Wedding Hors d’oeuvres Trends

Once a couple says their “I do’s” and exits the ceremony, it usually means picture time for the newly married twosome. So what does that mean for their guests? Cocktail hour!

If that’s your game plan for your wedding, I’d like to recommend the above passed hors d’oeuvres, courtesy of Blue Plate Catering in Chicago, for your cocktail hour.  People generally don’t love to wait and get cranky when waiting around without food (or is that just me?), but if you put food like this in front of them, you’ll likely return to a crowd of happy guests once you make your entrance.

Blue Plate’s Jessica McLean tells us these images represent various trends seen in weddings these days. Such as:

  • Featuring casual comfort food during your cocktail hour.
  • Creative vessels, with spoons and tasting forks presenting single servings.
  • An hors d’oeuvre approach to desserts — but stick to serving sweets after the meal as expected, instead of during the cocktail hour.
