Top Pic: A Modern White Wedding

Modern white wedding

White weddings can seem a little old-fashioned when you can have turquoise or orange or whatever outrageous color you want without raising eyebrows anymore.

But this picture proves that white weddings can be as modern and chic as any color. Let’s look at what makes this decor work:

  1. See-through chairs (sometimes called “ghost chairs”) offer a modern edge.
  2. White flowers (peonies, perhaps?) are traditional and romantic but also playful if clustered together in an unexpected way, as they are here to decorate an overhead fixture.
  3. Square plates instead of round ones give the tabletops clean, modern lines.
  4. The purple lighting takes the edge off the all-white scene (similar to this place setting with pink lighting) and gives the whole thing a hip, lounge-y feel.

Color me convinced.

  1. Interesting. In this way its almost as if the guests are to be the colorful decor in their festive wedding outfits. Though I have to say this way the bride (unless wearing something other than white) won’t stand out.
Love the ghost chairs, square plates and the lighting boxes! Trying not to squee!)
