This August wedding in Nashville of Amber and Josh had one main goal, according to event designer Jennifer Edwards Milam of Reveal Event Style: The couple wanted to throw a fun party with a backdrop of the downtown Nashville skyline.
When it came to decor, Jen says, “Amber loved the idea of lanterns, which I took a few steps further. I chose paper tissue balls because we could get more texture and shape variations, and I chose to create massive clusters detailed with flowers and ribbon.”
Putting the decor focus overhead instead of on the tables was both striking and practical. Large floral centerpieces take up table space, and Jen knew the crowd would be festive — and tables would be full of beverages — so the overhead decor helped maximize table space.
Jen notes that many of the elements used for this wedding were good for the cost-conscious couple — and could be good for your wedding. One major design element, like the tissue ball decor over the buffet, can be less expensive than many medium-size decor elements throughout. Small touches can pull everything together, like a tissue ball here and there. The “M” present on the invitation was also economically incorporated into the decor as a window decal decorated with fresh flowers.

Nice work, Shara! I would have liked to have seen the groom’s cake–they’re often so funny.
