Mix & Match Wedding Gowns

gray and white wedding dressI received an email from BHLDN a while ago about their mix and match wedding tops and bottoms and thought: That’s a nifty idea! But I didn’t bother to click through because, well, the girls modeling the outfits, while stylish, looked a little rigid and not entirely comfortable.

Victorian wedding dressesWhile I like a Victorian-esque look, generally, I wouldn’t recommend one for a wedding because one’s comfort level is something not enough brides take into consideration.

But I finally clicked through after a few days and was completely taken with the concept of mix and match wedding gowns. It’s such a great way to get your style without paying for the expense of having the dress custom-made. For example, maybe this is your style.

That way, you can wear the long wedding dress at your wedding and then use part of it for the later reception. You’ll have that wedding-esque look that many seem to strive for at belated receptions without wearing your entire wedding gown.

And that long ruffley skirt doesn’t have to lay around with nothing to do either. Just pair it with a different top and you could totally get away with it at a formal event, no?
