You don’t see pomanders much — that’s the little flower globe in the foreground made of moss, button mums and Gerbera daisies. They’re a cool thing that don’t seem to get their due.
The most common way to use a pomander is in lieu of a wedding bouquet. What’s nice about them is there’s a string attached to the pomander that you can slip around your wrist, so you can be hands-free. You can walk around your reception with your colorful pomander, which is kind of fun. If you have a bouquet, usually you end up placing it on a table and it stays there for the night.
Pomanders can also be wedding decor. They can be whimsical decorations hanging from manzanita branch centerpieces. You can also sling them on the sides of aisle chairs as wedding ceremony decor instead of little vases lining the aisle, which could tip over.
Call a local florist if you want a pomander. They definitely should be left in the hands of a pro.
