Wedding Invitation Trends

On the hunt for stylish wedding invitations and save-the-dates? Fantastic — because we’ve got Jill Morrison of Ruff House Art, a Kansas-based letterpress and design studio, on the blog today. Below, check out the trends she’s detected in the wedding stationery world — and look through some of Ruff House’s stylish offerings in the photo gallery!

Here are Jill’s top wedding invitation trends:

Patterns

They’ll come in all forms, Jill tells us: stripes, polka dots and simple, bold geometric shapes.

Lace and baroque

Consider these the girly counterparts to the pattern trend.

Destination & beach themes

Jill is seeing requests for these now more than ever. My own save-the-dates fall into this category. While we definitely don’t have a beach theme, we decided to play off of our wedding destination of Nashville by using a font that resembles the ones you see on country music posters.

Vineyard & orchard themes

Check out the photo gallery for Ruff House’s fun twist on the vineyard wedding invitation!

Nature themes

These are always a safe, very pretty bet for outdoor weddings.
